Concerning the<br \/>\nPWM technique, it is applied for the case when the inverter<br \/>\nsupplies an induction motor, the reference values of the currents<br \/>\nbeing obtained from a classical vector control scheme.<br \/>\nThe described technique is then simulated and the waveforms<br \/>\nare compared with ones obtained with preset currents<br \/>\n(bang-bang) pulse width modulation, as the behavior of the<br \/>\ntwo strategies is similar. The results are also compared with<br \/>\nthe ones resulted when a classical DTC controls the induction<br \/>\nmotor, as the both determine, during each sampling<br \/>\nperiod, the next stator voltage phasor, but considering different<br \/>\ncriteria. Concerning the control of the drive, the vector<br \/>\ncontrol and the predictive control of the induction motor<br \/>\nare compared. For the vector control, the rotor flux oriented<br \/>\none is pointed out, with highlight on the voltage source inverter<br \/>\ntype. A simple (and practical) method for avoiding<br \/>\nthe influences of the stator resistance variations when a<br \/>\nvoltage source inverter is used is presented, based on proper<br \/>\nsimulation models. For the predictive control of the induction<br \/>\nmotor, a sensorless diagram is considered.
