High precision low-cost INS/GPS
integrated navigation systems, based on intelligent data fusion algorithms Description |
The conformity with the Human Resource
Program From the
point of view of the Human Resources
Program of PN II, the project
theme fit into Domain PE - Mathematics, Physical Sciences,
Information and Communication, Engineering, Universe and Earth Sciences, Subdomain
PE8 - Products and process engineering:
product design, process design and control, construction methods, civil
engineering, energy systems, material engineering, Research Area PE8_1 - Aerospace
engineering. The project main objective is to raise the number of
researchers and of their professional performances by getting top scientific
results, competitive both on a European level and worldwide, thereby
increasing the visibility of Romanian research. The project also aims at the
knowledge development by means of the fundamental research, with
experimentally validated results. The
original, novelty and innovative elements of the project The project aims to overcome the
limitations of current INS/GPS integration schemes and to improve the
positioning accuracy during GPS signal blockages. It is fitted in a new
research trend regarding the using of
ANFIS techniques to obtain high precision low-cost INS/GPS integrated
navigation systems. We intend to develop some intelligent data fusion
algorithms in order solve some open issues related to previously exposed
research directions in the field: 1) Prediction of the positioning errors
during GPS signal outages by using ANFIS and Kalman
filtering; and 2) Prediction of the mislaid GPS reading data
by using ANFIS. For the first research direction we aims to provide
high supremacy methods to combine different data rate GPS with INS data
without sacrificing performance even if using low cost inertial sensors.
Feasible, new mathematical models and
intelligent data fusion algorithms will be developed, and further software
implemented in order to obtain some optimal architectures for INS/GPS
integrated systems. Also, some INS/GPS hardware structures with low-cost MEMS
based inertial measurement units will be developed and experimentally
validated. Finally, a functionality demonstration for INS/GPS developed
navigators through testing and experimental validation in various detection
scenarios will be performed. General objectives Fulfilling the main objective of
the project determines the definition of general objectives which can be
found among the objectives of the national research plan for the period
2007-2014 in general and of the Human Resources - Projects research program
for the stimulation to constitute young independent research teams, in
particular: OG1.
To increase the capacity of the team
involved in the solving of scientific and technical problems of high interest
and modernity, by means of original research; OG2.
To increase the visibility of the
Romanian researchers in Europe and worldwide by value, quality and
competitiveness of the project’s expected results; OG3. To form young specialists by involving them in
valuable research and by their materially sustenance of the PhD studies; OG4. To solve borderline domains’ issues which have a strong interdisciplinary character. |
